Typical pay ranges
Across active Fleet Find listings, CDL Class A drivers most often earn $1,300 to $2,200 per week. Local Class B roles trend lower, between $1,100 and $1,400 weekly, but come with home-daily schedules.
- OTR company driver: $1,400 – $2,200 per week
- Regional: $1,300 – $2,000 per week
- Local / home daily: $1,100 – $1,850 per week
- Owner operator: $250,000 – $320,000 gross annually before expenses
Endorsements raise the ceiling
Hazmat and tanker endorsements are the fastest reliable way to raise weekly pay. Combined hazmat-tanker seats routinely pay several hundred dollars a week more than dry van work in the same region.
Experience curve
Most carriers step pay up at six months, one year and three years. After three years, drivers usually gain access to dedicated accounts and premium lanes rather than large per-mile increases.
